Pray for recovery: External Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj

Smt. Sushma Swaraj, a distinguished Indian politician, former Supreme Court lawyer, and serving Minister of External Affairs, had been hospitalised after suffering kidney failure. Awaiting a transplant, she was receiving specialised care from a team of leading physicians at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), New Delhi. Mr. Lobsang Phuntsok, Director of the Himalayan Cultural Foundation, organised a special prayer ceremony on the auspicious occasion of the Anniversary of Buddha's descent to Earth. The ceremony was held at the Drepung Loseling Monastery branch — one of the largest Buddhist Monastic Universities in South India — located in Laxmi Nagar (L-90/95), Delhi.

During the ceremony, Buddhist monks performed Puja to the Medicine Buddha along with a series of sacred religious rituals. Mr. Lobsang Phuntsok generously sponsored the entire congregation of monks for the performance of the Puja. In accordance with Buddhist tradition, it is deeply believed that such a devoted Puja carries the power of a miraculous blessing, capable of supporting recovery regardless of the nature of the ailment. Mr. Lobsang Phuntsok expressed his full and heartfelt confidence in Smt. Sushma Swaraj's swift and complete recovery.
